Forums Down

Filed under: General — EffifyOrdenry @ 7:34 am

I’ve gotten new hosting for my website because the current hosting plan simply did not fit the requirements for my site anymore. It needs more php memory and space otherwise things start crashing on my server. This is what caused the problems on my forum once again.

I’m in the process of uploading my files on the new server. Site will be completely transferred and operational in a few hours hopefully.

..hang in there. :)

Christian Bale Dodges Arrest Questions in Japan

Filed under: General — EffifyOrdenry @ 5:56 pm

Christian BaleChristian Bale was in Tokyo Tuesday to chat about The Dark Knight. But the actor continued to keep quiet about his recent London arrest.

The actor was booked by police last week, following reports that his mother and sister had accused him of assault. During a press conference at Tokyo’s Grand Hyatt, Bale would only say, “It’s a private matter.”

Sitting alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal in a long-sleeved black shirt and dark navy pants, the Batman star looked uncomfortable as he scanned the crowd of reporters, eyebrows furrowed.

He was equally unforthcoming the night before, when he refused to answer questions about his arrest at the Japanese premiere of The Dark Knight. (That followed a recent event in Barcelona, Spain, when Bale declined to comment, calling the incident “deeply personal.”)

Bale – who has denied the allegations – has not been charged with any crime. He is due back at London’s Belgravia police station in September.

But the actor’s legal complications didn’t stop him from praising the work of costar Heath Ledger.

After saying “ohayo gozaimasu” (Japanese for “good morning”), the 34-year-old spoke about the first scene he filmed with the late actor – an intense interrogation between Batman and Ledger’s The Joker.

“Heath played that beautifully,” Bale said. “I enjoyed very much our first scene together … because it was the first time I got to see what Heath was really going to do …. Also, you could see how much he got [by] playing this character. He really got satisfaction out of it.”

Iron Man

Filed under: movies — Gabdraina @ 4:28 pm

Iron ManFor both comic book fans and those who can’t tell the Green Lantern from the Green Arrow, IRON MAN is the type of summer blockbuster whose appeal lasts far beyond the season. Robert Downey Jr. stars as Tony Stark, a billionaire playboy and genius who puts as much effort into chasing skirts as he puts into chasing his next big idea. A trip to Afghanistan to sell weapons quickly devolves into chaos, and Stark finds himself at the mercy of a warlord who wants him to build a missile. Instead, Stark creates a powerful suit of armor, turning him into Iron Man and allowing him to escape. When he returns to America, his assistant Pepper Pots (Gwyneth Paltrow), friend Rhodey (Terrence Howard), and right-hand man Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) all marvel at the change in the man they knew. IRON MAN is the first film to be self-financed by Marvel Studios, and they should be proud of their freshman effort. They didn’t take any obvious routes with choosing the cast or crew, and it pays off. Director Jon Favreau, who also has a small role in the film, is best known for directing ELF, but his first action-driven effort is nearly flawless. Casting Downey was gutsy but inspired: this is his first big action picture as well, but the wit he displays in films such as the cult hit KISS KISS, BANG BANG works perfectly for the character of Stark. IRON MAN features nods to its beloved source material, as well as to the classic animated series of the 1960s. But even for the uninitiated, this film provides an interesting entry into the Marvel superhero’s universe. Audiences who keep watching after the credits have rolled will be rewarded with a bonus scene.

Tom Cruise Talks Couch-Jumping and Family Life

Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey are sitting down to talk – but this time it’s on his couch.

In the first part of a two-part interview, Winfrey visits Cruise in his Telluride, Colo. home – and talk inevitably turns to the actor’s now-infamous couch jumping incident from 2005.

“[It] was a moment, and it was real,” Cruise says about his animated profession of love for Katie Holmes, in the interview to air on Friday. “I just felt that way, and I feel that way about her,” he continues. “I can’t even articulate it, to be honest. That feeling, that connection. Just who she is and what she means to me.”

Cruise also opens up about Holmes and private moments with his family. Here are some of the highlights from the first part of his interview. (The second part – filmed in Winfrey’s Chicago studio – is scheduled to air on Monday, May 5.)

• On Connor and Bella’s impressions of Holmes: “Kate shows up with cupcakes. The cupcakes are there, and they all looked at me like, ‘This is cool. Can we eat these cupcakes? This lady’s cool.’”

• On rumors about his relationship with Holmes: “That’s laughable to me. You just know that [tabloids are] trying to sell it and spin it.”

• On Connor and Bella reading tabloid reports about Cruise:”They love me, so they know. They’ve grown up with that, and I’m sure there are things that they don’t like, and you go, ‘Okay, that happened, things go wrong, but don’t live in it. Don’t live in that because today is a new day and there’s plenty of tomorrows. They’re good people, my children. I’m proud of them.I don’t want them to worry. They know I’m there. No matter what, I’m always there.”

• On dressing like Santa to surprise Suri: “I open the door, and I’m giving my best, ‘Oh, merry Christmas! Oh, look at this little girl,’ and Suri looks at me, and she says, ‘No – Dada!’ So that night, we were putting Suri down. Kate says, ‘How was it? Did you like it? What did you think of Santa?’ And Suri was really sweet, she looks up, and she goes, ‘Dada Santa.’”

• On whether Cruise has been misunderstood: “Listen I, I feel like definitely things have been misunderstood, and there are things I could have done better. But then there’s also that world where you go, ‘Oh, it’s been spun to such an extent.’ “

Scarlett Johansson• Scarlett Johansson, stopping by hipster hangout the Parkside Lounge in New York’s Lower East Side with beau Ryan Reynolds in tow. Looking for a low-key night, the two hung out in the back – and when it was time to go, the actress threw her black jacket over her head.• Hilary Duff, huddling with boyfriend Mike Comrie at New York’s Tenjune just before midnight and after her big movie premiere. The War, Inc. star and the hockey player grabbed the second booth on the right side in the raised VIP area, where they whispered and kissed all night. The lovebirds also mingled with club owners and were joined by Haylie Duff.

• Leighton Meester, teaming up with her Gossip Girl castmates – Jessica Szohr (Vanessa) and Sebastian Stan (Carter) – for a group dinner at New York’s Buddakan. Joined by 10 friends, the group feasted on edamame and dumplings, an eyewitness tells us.

• Hey, a girl has to eat! In between the screening of Iron Man and the post-screening party at Odeon, both hosted by Michael Kors, Gwyneth Paltrow, stopped in for a bite at Morandi in New York’s West Village.

The actress made her way on crutches – due to recent foot surgery– and walking ahead with her recovery in a cute summer dress and orthopedic shoes. While shopping, Shields picked up two hula hoops, a small guitar and a princess clock.

Ashlee Simpson Dodges Pregnancy Question on TRL

Ashlee SimpsonAshlee Simpson briefly addressed pregnancy rumors Tuesday during a taping of MTV’s TRL in New York.

A source at the taping says Simpson dodged the pregnancy question, saying that if all the rumors about her were true, she “would have had a baby by now.”

This marks Simpson’s first public appearance since announcing she and Pete Wentz, 28, got engaged last week. The show will air Thursday.

Just before performing her song “Little Miss Obsessive,” Simpson took a question from a female fan, who asked the singer to show off her engagement ring. Simpson, dressed in a black cardigan, white ruffled shirt and tight denim skirt, happily flashed her diamond eternity band.

Simpson, 23, is promoting her new album Bittersweet World, due out April 22. She is also scheduled to perform on the Today show Friday

Miley Cyrus Avoids Slime But Wins Kids’ Choice Awards

Miley CyrusMiley Cyrus had slime on her mind Saturday at Nickelodeon’s 2008 annual Kids Choice Awards.

The teen superstar begged not to get showered with the green stuff while she accepted the award for Favorite Female Singer (she also won for Favorite TV Actress). “I don’t want to get slimed but I am glad to be here,” she told the screaming crowd.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull star Harrison Ford, who presented the award for Favorite Voice for an Animated Movie, got the green stuff dumped on him instead, adding his name to the list of slimmed celebrities, which includes Justin Timberlake, Nicole Kidman, Pink and Johnny Depp.

Later in the night, Cyrus was back on stage to rock the house with her tune, “Girls Night Out.”

Jack Black showed off several green outfits while playing host, but Jessica Alba, who took home the award for Favorite Movie Actress, outshined him in a deep green gown.

Cameron Diaz said winning the Wannabe Award was even better than winning the Big Burp Award, which she took home a previous year. “Oh wow. And when I say wow, I mean, Wow!” she said. “This is the biggest honor in my entire life.”

Things got messy when Heidi Klum used darts to burst green slime balloons that filled the Mighty Slime Vat with a record-breaking amount of the oozing green stuff, which eventually ended up all over Black and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl star Orlando Bloom in a climactic ending to the show.
